Icy beauty was name of game on a great mountain. Parker all way over to Toll Road and Toll Road to White Arrow are fine without traction at all. Micro-Spikes are minimally needed to get up White Arrow though and crampons are not over-kill. Mt Rosa had minimal ice, Fairy Spring had a fair amount and slick on the down path. Summit was in cloud and minimal people, rime ice on rocks added some slickness but nothing bad. Red Dot was decent with micro-spikes fine. Overall a great day out with caution and common sense for the icy areas - but icy beauty all around. |
