Was happy to see so much available space to park near the trailhead-I don’t seem to get that much in the winter. I wore snowshoes start to finish. The trail was well packed to start (around 6:30am), in the higher elevations there was a couple inches of new snow, some drifts from the wind, and between summits-6 inch drifts or so of new powder over the trail but still nicely packed under that. Saw four others heading up on my return. (Spikes would have worked fine for most of it but I prefer my snowshoes for the lifts on the ascents as well as the good traction they give me through the snow into the ice underneath) |
