| Comments: |
Beautiful brisk day to loop up Roberts and then come back via Faraway Mtn Trail / Cold Spring. 2 people seen all day. Trail has dry, wet, ice and snow spots. So traction isn't bad to bring now, and after Sunday storm snowshoes probably. High Ridge is packed snow and hard. Visited Faraway Mtn (first tracks to communication tower) and the old cabin off High Ridge, plus few other small spots off trail. Cut out the big blowdown on High Ridge between Faraway Mtn Trail and the Faraway Overlook, while not fully cleared it is enough to safely walk by on trail vs needing to drop down the banking. Fresh Moose tracks on way to Faraway Mtn, they do like the boggy area there. Also fresh coyote tracks up in there. |
