A nice, calm, and warm fall day for my second summit of Vose. From trailhead to Notch junction is broken out via the abandoned trail (does not go up the switchback). Also its tracked out via the abandoned trail just before the water crossing. Laid fresh tracks on Carrigain Notch, only an inch or two of frozen granular. Met a pair of ice climbers heading towards Lowell Chute but they where long gone when we got back - no ice in there yet. We went just past bushwhack rock and ascended from there. More or less following the herd path from what I remembered. There WAS an exorbitant amount of flagging along the route. About 90% -- two pocketful's later, it's mostly gone. I do not understand the need to flag this, or any paths really - they are so obvious now its sad. That and its explicitly stated in the hundred highest packet as something NOT to do. I was able to bare boot to the tallus field, from there I put spikes on. There were four moose yards, two being in the summit clearing and two being about 10 feet off the summit clearing. Very cool. Stunning vistas from the tallus, we lingered a long while here. Well worth it.
