Holiday weekend woes and a Sunday but managed to get a vacated spot in Zealand at 5AM. Our pick up hikers had more trouble at Lincoln Woods in the evening. Traffic into Lincoln was just terrible with leaf peeping traffic coming out of the Kanc after sunset. |

Bog bridges at Zeacliff: one is broken and one is floating. Still doable but the dog bailed on the broken one and was surprised by his folly. |

Because of the recent rain, there were more streams than usual. It's not very hard but LONG. Make sure paws are hardy or protected for the ridge. The leash signs are from north of Mt Bond to after the steepest part coming down Bondcliff. This steep part will need some assistance but it has good steps for humans. |

Started in the rain until the hut. Sunrise was somewhere behind the cloud that we were inside. Still no views at Zeacliff or Guyot but started to clear while refilling at the Guyot campsite. It was a beautiful day with foliage not much past peak. There are alpine warning signs that include leashing dogs from just north of Mt Bond summit until after the steep part coming down Bondcliff. Mt Bond has a rock wall that does not prevent idiots from trampling the already smashed vegetation. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire Bondcliff ridge and would have stayed longer if pizza was not calling. After the steep part, the long way out was rather pleasant although the glorious foliage may have tipped the scales favorably. There was one large muddy section to go around. Don't try to go through as Frisco thought "who cares about a little mud?" and splashed face first (literally) into chest deep mud! (chest deep for dog anyway) |
