plenty of parking at AMC Cardigan Lodge - very full today but always some place to park there |

no issues crossing Fowler River |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
no issues, however, just a note that there is an active logging road crossing the Lower Manning Trail currently - the crossing is well-marked but there is heavy equipment in use not far from the trail - beware not to take the logging access road |

none but there were signs for an active ground bee nest near the river crossing - we didn't encounter any ground bees |

Terrific morning - always fun to revisit Welton Falls - that part was with the New Hampton Community Church's sub-group of mixed ages - we hung out at the falls for quite a while and enjoyed the foliage. Foliage is mostly golds/yellows with the occasional red here and there. Later, I headed up the Holt Trail to Grand Junction to take a look at Elizabeth Falls - looks possibly skiable - which explains why I've seen ski tracks coming out of there towards the grand jct bridge! |
