Comments
Comments: From our parking we jumped on Slippery Brook Trail heading northeast as we approached the base of Round Mountain, we jumped off heading east picking up an old wood’s road. Within 100 yards or so we then turned northeast bushwhacking in nice woods and soon enough we hit the recognized high point and summit of Round Mountain. We did see that Lady B and Italian had installed a new register just a few weeks ago and we found the old register under a pile of leaves, (Jack and Jill were the last to sign in) so we combine the two.

After signing in we dropped off the northwest side heading to Slope Mountain picking up an old woods road heading north then picked up another heading east and turning southeast. Once this woods road faded out, we then started bushwhacking in nice woods east, rock hopping over McDonough Brook heading towards a col between the summit and a bump to its north. Once at this col we turned south still in nice woods and soon enough hitting the recognized high point and the orange PVC register of Bryan C finish of the NH500 Highest.

For our return trip we followed our bushwhack back to and then picking up that woods road running southwest between Round and Slope Mountains. We followed that for just under a mile or so, then bypassed a woods roads running west, continued southeast for just under a half mile or so and came out to a large clearing. Here we turned west picking up another woods road for another half mile or so bring us out on Town Hall Road just south of wear we parked and a short road walk back to the truck.

Nice hike / bushwhack clocking in 6.5 miles and 1400 feet of elevation gain +/-
