Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Surprised that lot had less than 10 cars. Nice paved lot with much more room.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant, Leaves - Significant/Slippery
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: I used the bypass to avoid crossings 3&4 on my way up. Crossed all 5 on way out. All fairly easily done with some thought and I find poles helpful. Did get a wet foot when a rock moved under me on crossing 2.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Davis Path as nice as I've seen it. Only issue is rotting bog bridges which trail maintainer has no control over. Rocky Branch and Isolation trails roughly 50/50 nice walking or "why did I come here" walking.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a few including Pepper; adding to his impressive resume.
Bugs
Bugs: Several around but no biters.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: The nice sunglasses (mentioned in earlier report) are now at trailhead sign along with a nice water bottle I took down from Isolation Tr. after knowing with certainty that it had been dropped.

Comments
Comments: Expected much more hiking traffic but only ran into 27 hikers today. Nice chatting with John; hoping to see his Dry River hike report. I did a lot of whining on the way up over rocks, roots, mud, water etc.. Trip down seemed much smoother; maybe it took me a few hours to realize I wasn't on Elmore Mt. Last 40 minutes with headlamp required care as trail covered with leaves making it less obvious and also hiding rocks and holes. Timed well with views around the Pressies (which on the trip over I figured would be none). A few light sprinkles. No wind at summit and comfy temps. Foliage colorful on 302 and 16.
