| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I parked where the Wapack Trail takes off from Old Rindge Road in New Ipswich. I also discovered a new parking area signed “Wapack Parkingâ€, directly across from the main entrance to Windblown. I assume this was created to alleviate parking along the shoulder of NH 123 / 124, as that is now posted no parking. |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
None. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
No markings on the new trails I found, and two were only signed at one end, so it’s unclear where the other ends are. |

| Bugs: |
Nope. |

| Lost and Found: |
Two very interesting sculptures along Kidder Mountain Trail. I don’t recall seeing these before, but it’s been a while since I’ve been on this trail. |

A quick up and back to Kidder turned into more exploration as I discovered three new side trails off the Wapack in this area. From the new parking area mentioned above, Wapack Link leaves east, then Flat Mtn. Lower Loop leaves right off that trail at a fork and hits Wapack Trail in a few tenths. Wapack Link climbs to a four way junction where Wapack Trail goes right and left, and Flat Mtn. Upper Loop continues straight. This trail goes about 0.2 mi. then ends (?) at an unmarked T-junction. From the name, I assumed this loop went over the unnamed 1,686 ft. peak south of Kidder (which is indeed very flat), but it doesn’t appear to. Not sure what the story is here.
Anyhoo, still a great vista from Kidder; I hadn’t been here since 2013. There are several cairns around the flat summit, and one appears to be directly on the USGS spot elevation. |
