Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: At both crossings of the York Pond Trail early on you may get your toes wet. There's a sketchy jumble of fallen limbs at the first one that you may or may not want to depend on.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Two felled trees on the NE slope of South Weeks: the lower one has a defined herd path going around it and the higher one is easily passable. Evidence of fairly recent tree work at multiple spots on Kilkenny Ridge Trail- kudos to the trail maintainers for that.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Didn't see any.
Bugs
Bugs: Didn't see any.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: Though there are still many leaves on the trees there are many on these trails also - especially on York Pond Trail. This trail is also brushy at the start and there is some mud here and there - not shoe sucking mud but a couple of spots are close.

Ultimately my desire to avoid the masses led me here for an out-n-back climbing five peaks while visiting only three different. Despite the ups and downs at no time did I ever feel taxed: gradual grades and mostly good footing made this one a pretty nice walk. No sweeping views here but there are some to be had through the trees and on the NE slope of South Peak. I only encountered four others the entire day.

Foliage is pretty much at peak in this area so enjoy it while you can!
