First 2 miles is easy; after that it is never overly steep but it's always going up. Travel between the two peaks is relatively easy, but quite muddy. Careful rock-hopping kept my feet dry, but if you miss some of the mud looked deep. It was indeed significantly warmer , as I was comfortable in shorts and t-shirt at the summit of South Twin. Saw a bunch of people coming down, but had both summits to myself. Views were fantastic, and sitting in the sun was great. Felt like summer, not sure how many days like that are left. Awesome day in the Whites. |
