| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked at the Wild River, next to the Wild River Campground. Big lot, outhouse, picnic table, so there is a fee (we have the year pass). |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
There were many dry beds. Don't think they'd be too much trouble when they are flowing. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Remember that a little of this is in the Wild River Wilderness, so there are no blazes. I did not find it hard to follow. One humorous note; misspelling on trail sign - Black Angee. You can see it on one of the other trail reports' posted photos. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Make sure you have water for those higher elevations and watch for some sheer drops along Meader. |
| Bugs: |
Just spider webs, since not too many people are there. |
| Lost and Found: |
A tent spike at the Blue Brook Campsite. |

We camped the night before at Blue Brook, so this report is from Blue Brook. Once you're out of the wilderness, there are frequent bright yellow blazes. Pretty woodswalk for the most part, with some scenic outlooks and great views the third of a mile or so before Eagle Crag. We had done some of this a few years ago. Interesting to see how the trees have grown somewhat and unfortunately obscured the view in some places. Don't miss the spur path a little bit after Meader for some good views.
Blueberry heaven, but will probably be gone soon.
Eagle Crag was great - a beautiful walk with views all around. Some of this was a repeat, some of it was redlining. Would not mind going here again. |
