Comments
Comments: Not a bad day for the Osceolas considering the clouds and the rain. Started at 8:00 AM from the Tripoli Rd. trailhead and made it back to the car by 1:00 PM. Trail was quiet in the morning, only ran into a couple of people, but the foot traffic picked up by late morning. Be sure to bring cash or a check for parking!

The trail was in good shape. All blowdowns have been cleared (sure looks like it took a beating from the weather either recently or over the winter--tons of trees blown down). Some heavy areas of mud toward the summit of Osceola, but can either be hopped or bypassed. Made it to the summit of Osceola in about 1.5 hours. The summit turned out to be beautiful--the clouds were breaking and had some nice views of the mountains out east. After resting, made my way toward East Osceola. As your coming down from Mount Osceola you'll run into the Chimney--keep left if you want to bypass it (it's still pretty steep, but you're not climbing like the Chimney). Made it to East Osceola in about 30 minutes, took a rest and headed back. I stopped for lunch at the summit but unfortunately the rain rolled in, it wasn't too bad but enough for me to pack up and keep moving. Made it back to the car at 1:00 PM and was greeted by a full lot.

Met some really nice people yesterday. Overall was a great day and I think this mountain just became one of my favorites if I need to get a quick hike in with some nice views.
