I parked in the small parking area across from the trailhead on Mountain Road in Greenfield. One other car when I arrived, lined up along the road when I returned. Busy for a Wednesday. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Ted's - A few stepover blowdown; I converted a thigh-high to a stepover; needs light brushing in areas. Cliff - Needs brushing in areas below the cliff. Wapack - No issues. Carolyn's - Needs light brushing in upper section below ledges. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Sure. I saw three who were happy and well-behaved. This area is fairly dry though, so carry enough water. |

| Bugs: |
Mosquitoes still a PITA at lower elevations, but no bugs at all higher up. |
|
| Lost and Found: |
One work glove hanging on a tree, which I carried out. |

| Comments: |
This was sort of a convoluted loop - up the wonderful Ted's Trail, side trip to the cliff, Cliff Trail to the summit, Wapack Trail headed south, Cliff Trail back up to the cliff, then Carolyn's Trail down. Trails are bone dry everywhere and still lots of blueberries around. Excellent views from the cliff and the various viewpoints along Ted's Trail.
I zipped right over the summit without stopping as there was a group of about 20-30 teenage kids who were screaming and blaring music. I could hear them on the cliff, 0.5 mi. away. I met several other hikers who commented on them. I'm glad to see people in the mountains, but being disruptive is not cool. Other than that, a fantastic day in the Wapack Range. |
