Mt. Whiteface - Blueberry Ledge Trail, Rollins Trail - 7-22-2019

	Trails:	Blueberry Ledge Trail, Rollins Trail

	Date of Hike:	Monday, July 22, 2019

	Parking/Access Road Notes:	Parked at Ferncroft. The lot had perhaps six cars or so when we arrived at 0800h

	Surface Conditions:	Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

	Recommended Equipment:

	Water Crossing Notes:	None of any mention on the BBL trail. The Wonalancet river ( via Squirrel Bridge Rd ) is a bridged crossing. No issues

	Trail Maintenance Notes:	Trail(s) in great shape. WODC doing an awesome job. Thanks guys!

	Dog-Related Notes:	Didn't see any which was probably a good thing. The upper ledges for ANY pupper would be very difficult.

	Bugs:	Some mozzies down low and not many higher up. Way better than a few weeks ago on Passaconaway where NOTHING stopped them

	Lost and Found:	Nada


	Comments:	Hiked out of Ferncroft and on to Ferncroft road to the Squirrel bridge Rd aka road walk. The Blueberry ledge trail was in good shape with great footing until the BBL-cut off. After that the climb becomes more steep and rocky. At the Tom Wiggen jct the real climbing begins as the ledges are close by. They were dry when we went up and slightly wet when we went down as showers were falling off and on for most of the day which....was awesome as it broke the humidity. The upper ledges were challenging to climb and I was thankful they were dry enough when coming down them. The views into the bowl from the upper ledges were OK. The heat / humidity of late restricted the view but all in all it was still nice and so worth it. Hiked about 10-15 min past the Kate Sleeper trail jct to " bag " Mt Whiteface. Rain was quite steady by the time we returned to Ferncroft.
