Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: great caution needed to cross the wild river even with the moderate flow. I slipped on a rock and took a bath. the next crossings soon after are less troublesome. the water did feel good though.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: the Shelburne trail needs a lot of help! this southern end is very tough to follow at first with various markings and most of the trail is sparsely blazed. there are lots of branches and blowdowns along the way and it is getting grown in. the abrupt "cliff" at the edge of the river will get your attention!

Lost and Found

Comments
Comments: after my bath I dried off going up the trail keeping my eyes peeled. it is a bit tough to follow but not terrible. a nice steady climb brought me to the HOL at the kenduskeag tr. I bushwacked eastward thru somewhat thick woods to the ledges that were lined with many cairns. 5 yrs. ago in early may I did this in a lot of snow and couldn't see all these cairns. great views today and the canister is different though the register is the same. this peak should have a trail! on the way back I was surprised by 2 different pairs of hikers going to Moriah. on the way out rt. 113 I did the quick hike over the Roost.
