Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: At the gated end of Birch Hill Road in New Durham. There's room to park on the side of the road without blocking anything. The road appears to be private beyond the gate but is not signed as such, and there are no prohibitions against walking it. There were residents out at their home behind the gate and they didn't seem to mind I was there.

Comments
Comments: I used the same route Bryan did in his 2015 report.

From the gate I walked up the road past the house on the left, then turned right onto a logging road which passed through what appeared to be recent logging activity. I followed the main road right and angled up the ridge to the height of land. There, I turned left onto another old road, which climbed easily through a cool, dark tunnel of young tree growth to the wooded summit clearing. No views here.

From the summit, I took a third road down, which led me back to the initial road I walked in on. There are some limited views from this first road. The entire ridge looks like it was completely logged over years ago and was probably totally open, as all the trees here are very young.
