Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Sunday, July 7, 2019
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Got there at 7 and had a 0.3 mile walk to the trail head. Probably 0.5 or more if you park at noon!
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None (though that first log bridge is scary!)
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails were in great shape! One tree I had to step over on Snapper trail but no big deal!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Many! One oddly aggressive barker that I raised my pole at because I thought he was going to bite me! (if this is your dog, please consider a leash)!
Bugs
Bugs: So many bugs (mosquitoes, flies, bees) but not a single bite???? I had Deep Woods Off on, but perhaps they're about to move out?
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: I saw a sports bra on a rock early on the trail. And one men's hiking boot about halfway up the Gorge Brook trail--it was brown with red laces--didn't see a second one.

Comments
Comments: BEAUTIFUL day! Went solo but saw many people--not too many though! Very windy at the top, only stayed for a few minutes. So glad I hit the south peak, it was very nice, and cool to see where I had come from! I'm only at #10 but it was my favorite 4k so far!
