Comments
Comments: Got an early start to check out some new-to-me redlines to the junction with Beaver Brook while racing the forecast plus motorcycle traffic. No views on this lightly-traveled route (although I guess there's something from the memorial outlook when not in a cloud) - just miles of good footing, gentle grades, birches, moss, and ferns. Works for me! Hikers with dogs take note that the upper portion of Asquam Ridge and most of the Al Merill Loop are dry. I had just my fuzzy dog along today; he takes good care of himself and did very well, but definitely carry plenty of water if you're hiking in the heat of the day, planning to summit the Moose, and/or have a picky drinker.
