Hazy hot & humid today. Trail is in great shape, several blowdowns but all manageable. Couple of steep areas down low but after last river crossing really starts to climb. Last 1/4 to 1/3 of a mile switchbacks are brutal steep. Hazy views from top but spectacular. Beautiful view of Saywer Pond & Owls Cliff. Thought about going for Owls Cliff but low on water. Wasn't taking a chance too hot. Would like to check that out another day. Great day only saw 3 others & 2 dogs. Great way to end hike, couple of iced cold beers & soak in the Saco!! |
