Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Scrambling up South Baldface might be difficult to dogs, but we saw a few dogs on the trail.
Bugs
Bugs: Heavily buggy below treeline. Mostly mosquitoes in wooded areas, mostly flies above treeline. Treat your clothes, use bug spray (I use permetherine and picaridin), bring a headnet.

Comments
Comments: We did the loop clockwise to ascend the scrambling section of South Baldface rather than descend it. It was a dry sunny day so the rock was not slippery. Views are beautiful, frequent, and diverse. Keep in mind that with this amount of exposure on the trail, the sun becomes an issue on clear hot days. Eagle Cascade was a good place for cooling down. Emerald Pool seemed like another good dipping spot. There are multiple similar locations between the two.
