First time doing this hike, loved it. For anyone unfamiliar with the trail, from Greely Pond jct to the summit of East Osceola is unrelentingly steep for most of the way. The ridge walk over is a breeze until the chimney, which was wet but still passable. Lots of mud between the peaks, some unavoidable, which has led to major herd paths around a couple of large mud sections, on both sides of the trail in a couple spots. Summit area of East was quite cold and windy so I didn't linger, but the wind died down at the summit of Osceola and it was quite nice. Lots of hikers out today. |
