Comments
Comments: A meandering loop through the western side of Pisgah on some trails I hadn't been on, plus a walk along the resurrected Town Forest Trail. Along Davis Hill Trail, I considered the short bushwhack to the actual summit of Davis Hill and Chesterfield high point, but decided against it because ticks.

It wasn't on my agenda, but I took a side trip to check out the Friends of Pisgah Shelter - nice work! From there, a herd path climbed steeply to Hubbard Hill Outlook, where the views are pretty restricted. Then I made my way down to Baker Pond then out via Town Forest Trail, which I thought I hadn't been on, but once I saw the bunker things, I realized I was here seven years ago. FOP have done a nice job reclearing this trail and building a couple of new footbridges at wet areas.

All trails were dry but there were muddy stretches. I didn't see anyone all morning until I got back to the Kilburn Pond area.
