Comments: I was the first car parked on the side of High Street at 10am, and there were two others when I left around 3pm but I never saw nor heard anyone else. Long Pond Road and the Blueberry Mountain Trail are in fine shape for hiking. The trail was muddier and wetter than I expected, while the road was drier than I expected. From the summit, I bushwhacked across the ridge to Jeffers. The first 15-20 minutes are unpleasantly thick and I wasted a lot of time going side to side in here. Once you start climbing again, it gets much more open and quite pleasant. When in doubt, just stay on the ridge crest. It gets a little thicker again at the summit but not bad. From the canister, I decided to just go straight down the east side of the mountain aiming to hit Long Pond Road a little south of the split at 2273'. There are open hardwoods about 2/3 of the way down, then they get thicker but still not bad, and it finally gets annoying again just before the road. If you're not interested in Blueberry Mountain, climbing the east side is steep but very straightforward.
