Comments
Comments: Nice after work loop to stretch the legs. Trails were mixed with some dry ground and areas that were wet. Gunstock Mountain Trail had its usual mud pit right at the beginning but after that was fairly dry until higher up. Winter short cut had some areas of wet ledge and mud, easy enough to avoid. Ridge Trail was mostly dry with a few small muddy patches on the relocation. Nice views from the summit of Gunstock this evening, still some deep, patchy snow on the ski trails. The Brook Trail was fairy dry with a few small muddy sections. The relocation avoids the worst of the mud. Saddle Trail was a mud pit. Standing, running water and some boot sucking mud. Blue Trail up to Belknap was mixed with dry trail, mud and one small patch of ice that was easy to get round. Windy up in the tower with some nice views. White Trail had some stretches of slippery ledge and mixed conditions like all the other trails. The Carriage Road is mostly dry with the upper most corner being the only muddy spot. I would imagine it will be opening sometime in the next couple weeks if it ever stops raining.
