Surface Conditions: Snow/Ice - Monorail (Stable), Snow/Ice - Monorail (Unstable), Snow/Ice - Postholes
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes, Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: There are a LOT of crossings. Only a few had remaining snow bridges, and those were pretty sketchy.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: All in all the trail is in good shape. The steep section is a bit off trail, but with some trees, so it's not bad. The trail between North and Middle also goes a bit off trail, but it's broken out, and not all that bad. Come spring, it would be nice to see new paint on the blazes, and maybe some more blazes as well.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: I lost a yellow IME water bottle on the steep part. Would love to get it back, since it was borrowed.

Comments
Comments: On Friday I hiked the Kinsman Ridge, and it was rock solid. On Saturday I hiked Tom-Field-Wiley, and also a rock solid highway. Tripyramids? Not so much! It was in the 60s on Saturday, and neither Friday night nor Saturday night got below freezing, and the trail was impacted by that. Previous comments had said microspikes until the steep section, then snow shoes. On Sunday, had I known, I would have put on snow shoes right from the start. There was another party of two, and all three of us finally gave up on the microspikes and hiked up and back entirely in snow shoes.

When you get to the steep section, there is a broken out trail to the right of the actual trail. It's not bad, probably better. There is still a LOT of snow up on the ridge, so much that no one I spoke to nor myself saw the signs for any of the turnoff trails! They're entirely under snow.
