Comments
Comments: Perfect bluebird day today. After doing the Baldfaces yesterday I was looking for something a little more low key. I was joined by my friends Cara and Kevin. We wore spikes for the road walk as it was packed nicely. Tracks split off heading to Tunnel Brook trail and things became softer and upon reaching the trailhead for Blueberry Mountain trail we started punching through. From there it was snowshoes until back to the car. Pretty easy going the whole way. I notice on GPS the previous hikers had strayed from the actual trail upon reaching the pine ledges, so on the way back I sought out the actual trail and we broke it. If heading up take the left fork to stay on the proper trail. It is now packed but please use snowshoes as it is still quite soft. Hopefully some thaw/freeze cycles should help solidify the snowshoe track we helped set. I might add it also looked packed out from the Lime Kiln rd. side as well.
