Comments
Comments: we started up the trail, which is also a snowmobile corridor in winter, and had packed snow, with a couple inches of new on top, until a turn east shortly before reaching the pond below Nancy. at this point there were some signs for shedd hill road and blazing for the hiking trail up to round, etc. the usgs betrayed us and we went uphill to try and pick up the trail that heads east and down from the pond, but we should have dropped down to the pond to find it. a short bushwhack got us back on track and we followed the somewhat over grown trail down to a small pond nw of holmes hill where we started our bushwhack to its summit. good open woods all the way over a minimal snow base, currently enough for snowshoes, up to the recognized highpoint. we dropped down in our tracks and reclimbed the old trail to a point below Nancy to the east and bushwhacked up in open woods with lots of windfall. snow cover was very minimal until up near the recognized highpoint. better snow cover down the other side of Nancy to the pond and back to the trail we started on. on the way out at the height of land on stacy we made a short open woods bushwhack to it's recognized highpoint.
