Comments
Comments: Last day of winter hike. We used snowshoes with televators all the way to Hut. There are some frozen deep postholes on the connector trail. Monroe Loop was tough a river of ice down low snowed in up top leading to a few very steep pitches. Conditions were good enough to traverse the snow fields to the east of the summit but expect new snow will make it dangerous. I left the ice ax home and wish I had it on the snow fields. A but breezy up high but a great last day of winter. We wore crampons down almost to the parking lot. Kathoolas would not be adequate on summit cone.
