Headed up Old Bridal this morning. It was a perfect day out in the Whites. After the hut, the sky grew darker and we were getting socked in. About 0.3 from the summit, we lost the next cairn, with visibility decreasing, we decided to head down. We also saw a hiker come up after us - with no traction - and as he took the turn to summit the last approach, lost his footing and slid down a good 20-30 feet. It was scary to see! I hope he's safe wherever he ended up this evening! |
