Comments
Comments: Trails in good shape. Had to rebreak Zealand from about a mile from the summit to the summit. Could follow previous break, but just barely. Lots of limbs and branches to the face. Prepare to get snowy! Hale Brook trail is a complete mess at the switchback section. Super narrow and lots of slides off to the side and the occasional posthole. Width was about 1 snowshoe, so that was interesting and painful.

Originally went out for a possible Bonds traverse from Zealand to Lincoln, but nothing has been touched past the turnoff to Zealand summit. Given the time it took to bust to that point, we called it on the traverse. A woman coming up said someone had tried for Bondcliff the day before and had to bail as well. So far as I know, no one has been between Zealand and Bondcliff in quite some time. Snowshoes from start until back to Zealand rd where we bare-booted. One of us barebooted to Zealand hut in the morning. We did an out and back to Zealand and then 2 of us took Lend A Hand to Hale and down Hale Brook where we rejoined our group on the rd out. Lend A Hand is AMAZING and well broken. Hale Brook is in good shape except for the switchback section. That was just painful and annoying. Too narrow for 2 snowshoes and no good footing. The road walk is perfect for bare boots at this point. Moonlight walk out made for a nice finish to our day.
