Comments
Comments: We decided that we were only going to go as far as Baldface Knob on the slippery brook trail because our dog might've been miserable up on South Baldface's summit cone with the cold and wind. The wind was generally tolerable, despite the temperature, which was great. What was even better was the condition of slippery brook trail. It is in magnificent shape. Smooth hardpack with hardly a posthole in sight. We made excellent time is spikes the whole way. There are a couple points when the climbing starts (around 800') where the multitude of sky tracks are confusing, but stick to the blazes and you will get it sorted out. The Baldface circle trail appears broken out beautifully in both directions. The eastman mountain trail has not been touched in quite some time (absolutely no tracks).
