Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: we drove success pond road to success pond parking in one of a number of plowed out areas that allowed for straight forward access to corridor 18. depending on conditions and how things are plowed in the area parking could be unpredicatable and one must use care not to block any camp access. success pond road is currently in good driving condition with snow covering most ice. the road is rutted in spots. pretty straight forward with a mid clearance awd vehicle.

Comments
Comments: we walked through the camps to where success pond road joins corridor 18. this was packed as the camps use it for corridor access. corridor 18 and 12 are well groomed and the walking was fast. we followed corridor 12 to moose road (i hope i am remembering the name right) which is shown on some maps as snomo corridor, but is not currently being groomed. mercifully it had been snowmobiled through and we had good packed trail walking north to a point southeast of the summit of cambridge black at about 2000 ft. we started the climb on a fairly prominent old skid road eventually leaving it on a more direct line towards the peak. breaking was challenging along the road sinking 12-18+". more of the same through some cuts until the spruce line where depths dropped quite a bit and the going got relatively easy in mostly open evergreens up to the two recognized highpoints. we followed our tracks back out to corridor 12 which we followed south and up to the northern ridge of success hill to about 1900ft and started a bushwhack to the summit. mostly open woods and good breaking, 12" on average, up to the recognized highpoint. some notable blowdown right at the summit. from the summit we dropped straight down to the pond which we crossed to regain the car on the other side.
