Water Crossing Notes: As of this morning, the water crossing on SMT was not safely crossable. Opted to bushwhack back to the road, road walk across the culvert, hop over the gaurdrail and then whack back to SMT. On Drakes, the water crossing is really sketchy and required a leap of faith. Comments
Comments: Great but cold day. -5 to start, see my comments above about water crossings. Trails are in great shape and only need spikes to Smart's Brook, it's all well defined and packed with fine granular powder ontop, from there to Sandwich you will need snowshoes. Huge mooseyard was an amazing and wonderful surprise at SMT/SBT junction.

(If you want a map of the whack to get across the river please email)
