Surface Conditions: Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes, Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: First crossing has a trail going to the right where people have been crossing over logs. This may be necessary if water is high, otherwise if you stay to the left you will find a few rocks to walk across just under surface of the water. Second water crossing is the typical boulder hopping. Pick your path. All other water crossings are not fully frozen. I punched threw into some of the brown stuff towards the top.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Every tree that was along the side of the trail is now in the trail. The last storm left the trees covered in very heavy snow.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: It's cold outside. My dog is not wise at water crossings. Proceed with caution.
Bugs
Bugs: Dead.

Comments
Comments: Trail is broken and sturdy up to Solitude. There are an unbelievable amount of small maples and pines bent across the trail and frozen into place from the last storm. Lot's to duck under until things come loose. Other then that the trail is sturdy, wore just spikes all the way up without much fuss (a few muddy spots at the top are thin...).
