Comments
Comments: The trails are packed in very well right now, however several inches of new snow fell during the day and it was still snowing in the evening. I brought snow shoes but did not use them. Trail spikes were fine in all but a few soft spots, and those only lasted a step or two. Even on the Mt. Tom Spur almost all post holes have been filled in. The steep upper section of the Avalon trail was still a little soft but that was the only place I thought snow shoes might be better than spikes. I saw no one else on the trail, just me and the gray jay's and a whole lot of snow. Snow shoes may be better tomorrow with the amount of fresh powder. Walk in peace
