Comments
Comments: I was reading a report from this past Saturday, someone attempted the North Peak and didn't pay attention to their details. They took Scaur trail but I went for the slide. I thought it was odd that the trail was not touched when I came to the Scaur trail junction but I proceeded. I broke trail from there all the way to about 3200-3400 feet on the north slide. Waist to mid-thigh deep and extremely tiring and difficult to climb up. I decided to turn about a little past 11am. I wish I took Scaur trail as Im confident I would have been able to break it all the way to the peak as the other person from Saturday was close to the summit. Doing the slide solo was just killer.

Spikes from the start of Livermore road and then snowshoes on Livermore trail. If you are attempting to break trail and using alpine snow shoes like I was, make sure you have your tails (to expand the length). I mistakingly left mine in the car. The snow is so deep the alpine snow shoes postholes as if you are bare booting.

Didn't see anyone on the trail until my return to Livermore road. Lady cross country skiing and a couple going for a stroll. Overall, it was a great day, cloud as all can be but not much wind. Quiet and peaceful. Will take another crack at it soon!
