Great day on the trail. There was plenty of mud in spots, some fairly deep, it can mostly be avoided by going off trail. We did no bushwhacking because the water crossings were fine. The intersection for the path up owls head was fairly clear; a sign saying bears in the area and a log across the Lincoln brook trail. The path up it is very clear, almost better than some of the Lincoln brook trail. There was some trace snow at the top and some icy logs. The water made the trek down the mountain over all the roots and rock a little treacherous at times so had to take it slow. The actual slide was dry and fine. At a constant easy pace it took up 9 hours RT. LOTS of traffic coming out of the parking area. |
