Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Lincoln Woods pretty busy at 7:00 a.m., with hikers. A total madhouse at 4:30 when we returned. A lot of people out to see decaying vegetation. Traffic was actually backed up heading toward Conway from Greeley Ponds TH to outlook past the Hancock Trail. It looked like traffic was backed up almost to LW heading to Lincoln.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Significant, Leaves - Significant/Slippery

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: By doing the Black Pond 'whack we avoided the two larger crossings of Franconia and Lincoln Brook. Final two crossings required a little scouting but we found ways to rock-hop. No ice on rocks yet, but that may well change soon.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lincoln Woods was Lincoln Woods. Black Pond Trail fine. Black Pond bushwhack was not too hard to follow, especially on return. On route out to the peak we popped out right at Lincoln Brook crossing. Lincoln Brook Trail was very wet, with slippery rocks and leaves. Also a couple of step-overs. There is still a cairn at start of OH Path, and also a new sign warning folks not to leave packs due to bear activity. Owl's Head Path was easier to follow then I remembered it being. There are a number of cairns down low to mark the best route. Path to "new" summit was easy to follow. Last time I did this hike there were a number of paths but they seem to be reduced to one route now. Brutus 'whack was pretty easy to follow, if you pay attention.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a few.
Bugs
Bugs: None.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing of note.

Comments
Comments: A mixture of elements. A little sun, rain and even snow. A dusting of snow above 3700 feet, but slide was clear and dry.
