Peaks Potash Mountain, NH
Trails
Trails: Mt. Potash Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Wednesday, October 10, 2018
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Being the height of Fall Foliage the parking area was almost full. I counted sixteen cars when I arrived about noon. Comfortable capacity is about twenty cars. This parking area serves three trailheads so not everyone (thankfully) was going up Potash.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Leaves - Significant/Slippery
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The crossing of Downes Brook near the start of the hike was fairly easy, but could be difficult in higher water. I'm glad I had hiking poles for balance.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The trail is in perfect condition.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I met a hiker descending and she had three friendly dogs. It's a good dog hike.
Bugs
Bugs: none...
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: nothing.

Comments
Comments: This is a terrific hike with a beautiful almost open summit. Perfect of a warm October day. My only caution is that the trail was slick in places due to humidity in the air and wet leaves. This made for some slippery rocks. This was mostly in the shaded areas. Once on the upper ledges the rocks were exposed to the sun and dry. Use caution in the rocky areas.
