Little less than 6 hours RT from car. Took the classic route from notch following the herd path left just after the boulder. Fairly good herd path most of the way with some detours due to blowdowns. Route is mostly westerly up the small drainage until 1/2 way and then goes more northerly. Path led to the bottom of the talus slope. Trail restarts at top of talus slope on left side (small cairn). Most of recent blowdowns were on upper section. Summit cannister is approx 100 yards north past a false summit. Went down a slightly different way after the talus slope, when we apparently got on a different herd path. Recommend bringing pants and work gloves. |
