We avoided the ones on Bog Brook by taking FR 233. Wildcat River was rock hoppable using a slightly submerged rock. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Several blowdowns on Wildcat River Tr but none too difficult to navigate. Evidence of blowdown removal along Wildcat Ridge Tr and Wildcat Valley ski trail but there were a few recent ones remaining. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Another routine hike for Marlie. She post holed at times and scratched her nose but still fared better than me. |
|
| Bugs: |
Noticeable around Carter Notch Rd and the Prospect Farm area. |
|
| Lost and Found: |
The usual bits and pieces of spring clean up. Several wrapper corners and bits of duct tape. |

| Comments: |
I finished off my May grid with a hike over the Wildcats using my favorite trails to these peaks. I carried snowshoes since I had used them 6 days earlier on Cabot but did not need them. Microspikes were useful but the snow was intermittent although still up to 3 feet in spots in the cols. We saw only one other person all day which happened to be TipToe finishing off the Wildcat River Tr. There were many trout lillies, white and red trillium, and other wildflowers in bloom.
