Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Did not consider Downes Brook safe to cross so I opted for the Fireroad option. Big mistake, should have just gone up Hedgehog instead. Fireroad had been broken for a couple hundred yards, but then the tracks veered off in the wrong direction. The rest of the road was deep, wet and heavy unbroken snow. It was brutal and not my idea of fun. Took almost 45 minutes to reach the trail. I don't think it was used all winter.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Well marked trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I don't think a dog would like the fireroad option.
Bugs
Bugs: Thankfully, none
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: My mind, by not turning around when I saw the road had not been touched all winter.

Comments
Comments: The trail, once I finally got to it, was a narrow corridor just wide enough for snowshoes, which I used the whole time. Stopped at the ledges overlooking Downes Brook Valley and called it a day. And it was a beautiful day!
