| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
|
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
The main concerns would be a pouch falling into the brook where it hugs the side of the trail. There are, as always some narrow sections that close attention should be paid. Also crossing the slides on the ascent to Wildcat A on the Wildcat Ridge Trail. Dogs should be fine. |

| Comments: |
The 19 Mile Brook trail is a paved highway of hard packed snow/Ice, with a light coating of fresh snow that fell while we were there. The .7 push from Carter Notch to the summit of Wildcat A was similar, but very steep. You certainly don't want to fall in many areas. The side-hilling is challenging because the snowshoe track is only one shoe wide in some areas. Going up was rough because my bad ankle was down hill, making it bend to it's weakness. Coming down was a concern as we went up, but with care was easier than we anticipated as we had gravity working with us. All in all, the 19 Mile Brook 3.8 miles is easy-peasy, the .7 on the Wildcat Ridge section was hard work and needs on to pay attention. No other hikers all day! |
