Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Icy. Not really a problem for cars - just a hazard for humans :) Just keep your micro's in the front seat so you can put them on before getting out of your car. Castle in the Clouds drive up Ossipee Park road was sketchy in the morning, but no problem by day's end thanks to road crews - thank you if you are reading this! Shannon Brook trail parking lot also like an ice rink.

Comments
Comments: We walked right past the herd path for Faraway mtn...bummer. Microspikes until after Faraway cutoff - switched to snow shoes due to post holing to my knee. Once we reached the snow machine trails before Shaw we switched back to micro's. Heading over to Black snout, we switched to shoes again after leaving the snow machine trails and kept the shoes on until we hit Turtleback Mtn trail - which snow machines use - entirely packed down and made for microspikes. Wore spikes until we finished at 171. Amazing day. Saw one person at the beginning of the hike who was nice enough to take our picture. Thanks for a great hike, Snickers!

I stopped for coffee on the way to the trailhead at the dunks in wolfeboro and slipped on ice heading back to my car. My butt still hurts. However, no coffee was harmed in this story. It was a good day.
