Trail has been obliterated in places by logging. From TH follow trail crossing 2 active skidder paths, trail comes out onto logging road, bear right. follow road until coming to a large level area and intersection of 3 branch roads. the one to the left will go steeply uphill, take the one on right(brook side) which appears to go into a yard but continues on the other side. follow skidder path looking for trail going off to left. at this pont if you can't find the trail follow the brook, the trail crosses west to east in about 150(?)yds. the red blazed WMNF boundary crosses the brook at the same spot. Snow went from 1" to knee deep drifts and bare booted with care, tree branches covered, put on spikes on last pitch up to Resolution. like wading thru snowbank to get to "other" summit. Turned on GPS at big rock on Resolution for descent. track showed Parker - 3022', Resolution - 3419' - wondering why the inaccuracy, trail 5.83mi. Not another soul was seen but lots of fresh coyote tracks |
