Comments: From our campspot (Spruce Brook Tentsite), we hiked a loop on the eastern side of the Wild River Wilderness. Wild River Trail (crossed the river downstream of the trail junction by the old Spider Bridge foundation). Black Angel Trail east. Bushwhacked Blue Brook Shelter Peak, NH300, only 0.2 mile from the trail... climbing up its south arm. Blue Brook Connector Trail... then checked out the tentsite (shelter removed); and HEAVEN... was its water source... a most beautiful cascade over smooth sloping rock. Basin Rim Trail... progressed steeply up Ragged Jacket. Once on Meader Ridge, and being only 300' from Mt. Meader, we bushwhacked to that as well. Bumped into Tim C.! Cool. Checked out the view spur. Once on Eagle Crag, we "drank" in the awesome 360 degree views. Eagle Link was a bit of a downhill slog through muddy trails thick with ferns, hobble and growth. (Or maybe we were tired). Once back on Wild River Tr., it was a beeline to our tentsite. We broke camp and packed out. Long... but awesome weekend with friends Barb A. and Terri W.
