Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: High water from this weekends flash floods in the region made us turn back at the first water crossing on Downes Brook Trail. Tried bushwhacking along the river for a calmer section (found a nice campsite), but the water was ripping and it looked like there was waist deep holes no matter where you crossed. Threw in the towel and decided to give Potash a shot. The crossing there was a bit tamer, but still required wading in knee deep water. Boomer was not in to swimming in the fast moving water so we turned back.

Drove around to the front side of the mountain and hiked up Whiteface that way.
