Only one significant water crossing at the very end over charles revine brook (others were not an issue at all). Even this one wasn't too difficult to stone hop. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
I've never hiked with a dog and I would have thought that this trail would be difficult with a dog, but I saw a corgi (with very short legs) at the top! |
|
| Bugs: |
Swarms of mosquitoes at lower elevations. Bug spray did not help too much. |

It was stunningly beautiful. I really suggest this hike. It is challenging at times, particularly at the start of the alpine zone of south baldface. Very large sections of exposed sloped bedrock combined with somewhat challenging rock scrambles. Do not attempt this in wet conditions! I would also recommend going up this way, and down on the other side of north baldface. We encountered some wet rocks here from runoff or springs, but most of the wet stuff was avoidable. The views at the top are amazing. Also there are a lot of purple flowers at the top that make it even more picturesque. Going down the loop trail isn't too bad, although it does drop pretty fast and there are some scrambles too carefully descend. The cascades on eagle cascade loop were also worth checking out. We couldn't stay too long because of mosquitos though. There was no snow or ice anywhere. |
