| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Lots of parking available in the lot at Wild River Campground. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
The suspension bridge by Wild River Campground is no longer there, so go on a dry week and be prepared to wade. It was knee-to-thigh deep with a solid current when we did it. River crossing skills and poles a must. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Moriah Brook Trail and Shelburne Trails are overgrown; I don't think anyone is maintaining them anymore (?). Moriah Brook Trail was still easy to follow if you are an experienced redliner...I wouldn't want to try this one if you're a newbie, though. Same with Shelburne...we actually got lost about a mile down from the intersection with Kenduskeag. The trail just seemed to disappear...John's GPS and my map-and-compass skills came into play and we eventually found the trail again. Easy to get lost, so be careful. Both trails were fun and definitely have a wild flavor. Moriah Brook Trail goes through lots of beaver and moose territory..and it feels fairly flat until you're almost all the way to the intersection with Kenduskeag. It was a nice way to ascend. The ridge over Moriah and Shelburne-Moriah is well kept. Felt like a (steep and ledgy) country road after coming up from wild and overgrown Moriah Brook Trail, lol. |

| Bugs: |
Tons. Collected a gazillion bites. Also had a tick attached to me when I got home. |
|
| Lost and Found: |
John lost his black Fitbit somewhere between the parking lot at Wild River Campground and the east side of Shelburne-Moriah (on a clockwise loop). If anyone happens to find it, you can contact John at johnjmyers@comcast.net |

| Comments: |
Hot and buggy day, but well worth the adventure. Definitely have your map and compass skills handy (or a GPS) for Shelburne Trail. |
